It is a good idea to test the tracking code after installing it. You don’t want to send a massive email campaign only to find out the emails are not being tracked. There are few ways to verify this.

With Email service provider

If you are using a service like Mailchimp, create a dummy campaign that contains the Salespanel generated tracking link (to learn more about generating the tracking URL, click here). After the campaign is created, send a test email to an email account you have access to.

Now, open the receiver accountl on incognito mode or different chrome profile or a different browser or computer where Salespanel is not installed. Visit the link from the email and perform some activities like visiting different pages on the website.  When you visit the website, a notification will be generated from your salespanel extension and the activities will be logged. If the email is not already there on your Salespanel account, a new contact will be automatically created. Open the contact and check the activities to verify if the tracking code worked.

With Salespanel Browser extension

If you have the Salespanel browser extension enabled, go to Gmail and send a test email to an account you have access to. The next steps are same as the ones mentioned for Mailchimp. Open the receiver account in incognito mode or different chrome profile or a different browser or computer where Salespanel is not installed. Visit the link from the email and perform some activities like visiting different pages on the website. If everything is logged properly on your Salespanel account, email tracking is working properly.
